Maths

At Eardisley CE Primary School we aim to help each child attain an overall competence in each aspect of maths by ensuring they have a clear grasp of the basic computational skills of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication, and a developing understanding of more complex mathematical ideas.

To achieve this, great emphasis is placed on the use of practical activities and the modeling of processes by the teachers. Daily opportunity is given for children to develop their competence in mental arithmetic as well as written calculations. Problem-solving and investigation work are used to increase confidence and understanding.
