The Oak Classroom is at the back of the school and looks out over the school field. In fine weather, the children sit outside on the patio under an awning to work
Oak Class children, as the oldest children in the school, are encouraged to taken on special responsibilities within the school. House Captains and Sports Captains are elected annually and the children take their duties very seriously. They also act as ‘buddies’ for our youngest children and help them settle into school life and routine
When children reach Year 6, most years they are offered the opportunity to take part in an annual residential visit to Liverpool or some other city or to The Red Ridge Centre near Welshpool. The children take part in canoeing, rock climbing, zip wire, caving and other adventurous activities at Red Ridge
Children in this class regularly put on performances for parents, including at Christmas and for the end of year show. They take a lead role in our assemblies and in school life generally
Over the past few years, the Year 6 children have fundraised during their last year with us to raise money for a ‘Year 6 end of school’ experience
